Hope Lives - Samaritan Counseling

Hope Lives - Samaritan Counseling

Friday, March 01, 2024, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Harvest United Methodist Church recognizes that the need for faith based, mental health care is at an all-time high and has partnered with Samaritan Counseling of the Gulf Coast (visit Samaritan’s website here) to help meet the counseling needs for individuals, couples, families, and children, as well as career, personality, and psychological assessments. Providing funds for those who would otherwise be unable to afford these services is one way we can help.

Harvest is pleased to sponsor “Hope Lives”.  Your $35 per person donation for this fun, family-friendly event will go to Samaritan to provide counseling hours for their clients.  This year’s event will feature stories of hope, entertainment, appetizers, and desserts.

When you register, we invite you to consider being a Table Hostess and/or to participant in the Charcuterie Board contest.

Table Hostesses

Tables will be set by attendees who indicate at registration that they want to be a Table Hostess. You may fill your table with your own eight (8) guests or if your table is not full, we will seat people with you, who have not indicated a table.

Hostesses will use their own dishes, silverware, glasses, maybe even some sparkling grape juice for a toast (no alcohol please). The Sky’s the limit to create a beautiful tablescape for those seated at their table. You may make your table as formal or casual as you desire.  And don’t forget a centerpiece.  Remember the menu will be appetizers and desserts.

Our Table Hostesses Committee will be happy to share ideas to help you come up with ideas for your table.  Contact Carolyn Eliason at with any questions you may have.  If no help is needed, we’re excited to see how you bring your table to life

Charcuterie Board Contest

At registration attendees can indicate they wish to get creative and participate in the Charcuterie Board Contest.  All attendees will have the opportunity to vote on the most impressive board, and a prize will be awarded for the winning board.  There are many ideas for Charcuterie Boards on Pinterest, Google Search, or using your own creativity based on your food preferences.  Keep in mind that the boards will be incorporated into the appetizer selection for the evening, after the judging is complete.

Our Food Committee will be happy to help you come up with an idea for your Charcuterie Board.  Contact Debbie Lewis at .  If no help is needed, create away.  We ask that your board and contents cover no more than 24” X 24”.  Your board should be brought to the church no later than 6:00 pm the night of the event(Keep in mind we do not have a refrigerator large enough to hold the boards.  The boards will be placed directly on the table for votes.)
