Passage: Matthew 4:1-11

In Matthew 4:1-11, we find the story of Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness. This was His 40 days to prepare for the start of His ministry. Lent is 40 days for us to prepare for what is next. Not a season of “giving up something”, that’s too trivial for Jesus, rather this is a season of preparation for the work that is next for us. It is the season of letting God build us up, strengthen us, so that we are ready for what is next.
