Carving a New Creation

Carving a New Creation

Passage: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Speaker: Rev. Michael Pestel

Series: Win-Win

Carving a New Creation II Corinthians 5:17 by Rev. Michael Pestel

Choosing to give our life to God is a win for us and a win for God.

The “with God” life is to be life and light, it is not burden, it is burden lifting for us and our loved ones, our neighbors. The “new you” that walks with God in this life is one that is living into the fullness of potential and promise that God implanted in you from the beginning.

II Corinthians 5:17 “So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!”

Top – make a choice, consciously open self to God. To be transformed through the renewing of our mind.

Guts – come into my mind, come into my heart. Open my history and hurts to Jesus. Jesus can heal and cleanse us.

Eyes – Those who are in Christ see the world differently. People, opportunities, setbacks; with transformed eyes we move toward seeing everything closer to how God sees it.

Ears – we can hear the whisper of the spirit. Those in Christ begin to sense the guidance of the Holy Spirit in pivotal moments, able to be guided toward doing the next right thing.

Mouth – our words are used for blessing, not curse. Used to build up, not to tear down.

The Flame - This vital component that makes all the transformation possible, the flame of the Holy Spirit at work in us.

Prayer – O God, we do pray that we might remember the one who loved us first. You are the one who made us and sustains us. We ask that you would change us from the inside out, new creations in Christ made to be light in the world. Amen.
