Originally, HY5 intended to go to Baton Rouge to serve the community on this mission trip, but due to the recent events in that city, it was decided the group would instead be joining another group in Sunflower, Mississippi.  All week they worked with licensed construction supervisors to replace drywall and insulation in three flood-damaged homes in an impoverished rural area of Mississippi. They will serve there through Friday and return to Harvest LWR Saturday evening the 23rd as planned.

The group stayed at Delta Grace UMC. You can find more information about Delta Grace at www.deltagrace.org. Along with the group from Thomasville First UMC, they met one other group that was already planning to be at Delta Grace this week. There were plenty of accommodations for all groups.
