We Joined together at the Bayshore Community Garden and Sunshine Community Compost during International Compost Awareness Week for Florida’s first ever Compost-A-Thon.
During this event, we learned how to collect compostable materials in a sealed bucket.
We came to our hosted community compost site on the Bayshore Community Garden property (5512 26th St W. Bradenton, FL, 34207) to weigh in and deposit collected scraps.
After the weigh-in on Saturday, May 12, participants attended a luncheon at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex at 12 p.m. to celebrate our collective success.
We encourage you to Join our community and have fun, while raising awareness about food waste reduction, landfill waste diversion, soil building, and the benefits of composting.
